Founded in 1988, CAN <UK> is based in Ladywood, Birmingham and works throughout the UK.
We are a design, media and communication company working with people of all ages and abilities to devise engaging cross media projects that enable participants to express ideas about themselves, their communities and environment.
Aside from the skills of the core team, we collaborate with other associate artists and professionals in order to offer an extraordinary rich range of artforms and media technologies.
We develop projects in partnership with a diverse client list from the voluntary and private sector including departments of local authorities, environmental agencies and regeneration groups. The creative outcomes include radio pod casts of environmental issues to consultation projects using media to distribute the responses.
As a company we have evolved from developing fire festivals and community participation projects to embrace the new technologies that now form the core of our work. Some examples of this earlier work can be found in retro can (under the archive section) which showcases projections underneath canal bridges and tissue lantern festivals in rural villages.
Take a look at our current portfolio on our home page to find out more about the range and energetic mix of people and projects that we successfully deliver throughout the region.

We worked with BTEC media students to develop films and animations that explained complex maths problems in fun ways for younger pupils. The programme was supported by Creative Partnerships Black Country.
Our successful radio project, a finalist in the national 'Empowering and Involving Communities Award', is now hard at work with pupils from the Lozells area to produce a new broadcast for 2009.
